This saying has come to mean a lot to me. After my daughter's death (Emma died in infancy) many people I'd come to meet would discount her "grief value" based on her young age. Things were said such as "At least she isn't old enough to be attached to" and many other hurtful comments. I know that those saying these things probably meant well, but it just inflicted more pain on our hearts and made us feel that someone who meant the world to me and my husband meant little to others. This saying says it all for me. I hope that there will be others who will find the beauty and meaning of this piece for themselves.
